It has always been my dream to combine the best underwater photography destinations with an exciting wildlife safari. And to provide the ultimate underwater & wildlife photography tours on offer. Because photography, and in particular, underwater photography, together with conservation, has always been a big part of my life. And, being able to share these two great loves, is an amazing adventure in itself.
Wild at Heart
Having grown up with wildlife close to my heart,it made sense to study Wildlife Management at university. And I followed this with a Masters in Conservation, & worked on a Big 5 game reserve in South Africa. Here the learning curve was greater than any book could’ve provided. And, it was also one of the greatest times of my life!
I was offered an amazing filming opportunity in the Serengeti, which was too good to pass up on! Unfortunately the Wildebeest migration we wanted to film never materialized in our area. It was here that I combined my first wildlife safari with underwater photography, as we headed off to gorgeous Zanzibar. And so, the idea for Saltwater Safaris – offering unique underwater & wildlife photography tours – was born. This was followed by an amazing 2 years in the Caribbean, more specifically, the Cayman Islands.
The Call of The Wild
Two years later I returned to South Africa and formalized my photography business, focusing on sport and predominantly adventure sport! But the beauty of the African bush has a way of drawing you back to its majestic landscapes. The bush beckoned. So I branched out into Hotel and Lodge photography – and a USP for island hotels, was my underwater photography.

Underwater photography has long since been a passion, that has taken me around the world. To exquisite locations to enjoy magical underwater wonderlands. I completed my dive qualifications in Australia, on the Great Barrier Reef, and the Yongala Wreck. And I have since dived in exotic locations including Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Thailand, Fiji, New Zealand & Bali.
Over the years, I have been privileged to experience exhilarating adventures with moments of pure magic. Ones that leave you utterly breathless. What’s more, I’ve captured some of these on film.
