From Pemba to Serengeti

Pemba Island is a gem off the Tanzanian coast that is still largely unknown to commercial travellers and holidaymakers. But for those in the know, it's one of Africa's most pristine dive locations. The island is ringed by majestic underwater walls and dive-friendly topography, home to big game fish species, hammerhead and reef sharks, turtles, and manta rays.

You'll find the most spectacular dive sites on the island's west coast. This area includes Misali Island, select locations off the Kigomasha Peninsula, and the Fundu Gap and Njao Gap. These all form part of the Pemba Channel Conservation Area.

From Pemba Island, we fly to Arusha, where the evening is spent readying equipment and preparing for our safari to the Greatest Migration. Just a short flight away, this event transpires across the southern plains of the Serengeti. Here, you'll encounter millions of wildebeest in their summer grazing habitat, along with multiple thousands of births, predatorial incursions, and interaction between multiple species.
